WNS Family News - Summer 2020
Greetings WNS Parents,
We hope you have been enjoying your summer!
Last week, our teachers and Executive Board met to discuss the reopening of the preschool. We explored the changes and policies we would need to implement to keep all students, families and teachers as safe as possible heading into the new year.
We will be following the state guidelines closely and also applying our own set of precautions. Although a few things may look different this year, we are confident we can still uphold the WNS tradition of providing our students a warm, secure environment that is stimulating and yet consistent in the rhythmic predictability of the day.
New Protocols:
-
The first day of school for the Ladybugs is Tuesday, September 8. The first day of school for the Bumblebees is Wednesday, September 9.
-
Students will be dropped off and picked up at the playground gate (through the fall months.) This will help us limit the amount of people entering the building (as well as give the students a fun start and end to the day!) In the case of inclement weather, parents will drop off students at the door (entering on the front stairs and exiting down the ramp.)
-
Student’s hands should be sanitized upon arrival. We will provide hand sanitizer at the playground gate (or door.) We will also be practicing hand washing skills throughout the school day.
-
Adults should wear a mask. Students will not be required to wear a mask. Teachers will be wearing them when interacting with parents, but not once in the classroom.
-
Temperatures will be taken daily upon arrival. We will also ask a series of routine questions to ensure safety for all. Parents are encouraged to take children’s temperatures at home, and please do not send them to school if they have a temperature of over 100.4 degrees (see handbook for more info.)
-
New cleaning routines are in place. We will be following all daily cleaning and disinfection protocols laid out in the state’s reopening guidelines. All Saints Church has also purchased a sanitization machine that will be used in the school daily.
Other Items to Note:
-
The tuition rates have changed. The Ladybugs (3/4 year olds) tuition is now $153.00 per month. The Bumblebees (4/5 year olds) is now $230 per month. Tuition is due on the 10th of the month. If you would prefer to pay in full for the year we are happy to offer a 5% discount.
-
A Fall Calendar Raffle Fundraiser is planned! As we strive to keep tuition affordable for all families, (the actual cost to educate each child is far more than tuition covers) fundraisers are imperative to our success! Each family is asked to raise a minimum $50 per semester in fundraising endeavors. This September we will be selling a calendar raffle (with prizes pulled daily in October) for $10 each. More information will be provided at the beginning of school.
While it is disappointing to not be able to hold our Annual Family Orientation and Potluck to gather together before the start of school, we are thrilled to welcome your student and family (back) to Wolfeboro Nursery School cooperative.
Enjoy the rest of the summer and please reach out to the Board or teachers with any concerns and questions. See you in September!
